Talk: Women's Struggles Across the World: Building Power and Community
Start Time: 19:30 on Zoom
Please register here
Members of IWDE are holding an event in conversation with Mariana Bracho, who will speak about women who self-organise in Mexico and specifically about the group Las Patronas and their work with Central American refugees, as well as Rubi R. (from London Mexico solidarity) who will speak about the struggle of the Zapatista women against capitalism and patriarchy.
Madelaine Caracas will join the conversation too and will share her struggles against the Nicaraguan government, and other governments in Latin America.
This will be a dynamic conversation rather than a talk, and we will be taking questions from the participants as well.
To attend this talk you must pre-register on eventbrite. Registration will close one hour before the scheduled start time. Zoom details, including the meeting id and password, will also be provided to registered attendees by email one hour before the scheduled start time. We ask all attendees to read our safer spaces agreement in advance and to act in a respectful manner during the session: https://edinburghafb.org/saferspaceagreement
